Jan Willem Sewalt, head of service management at Starbucks, and Chris Arrington, manager of productivity tools at Airbnb, are the first big name Keynote speakers to be announced for SITS18.  The UK’s leading event for ITSM, service desk and IT support professionals returns to Olympia London, on 5-6 June.

The future of Airbnb’s service desk

Worldwide accommodation leader Airbnb will also be delivering an exclusive keynote at the show.  Chris Arrington, who manages the productivity tools team at Airbnb, is responsible for creating the Airbnb Service Desk and developing the content and self-service strategy leveraged by the business.

Driven by three key tenets: automate, educate or eliminate, Arrington will discuss how to reduce friction by testing self-help services with employees and customers at different phases of a rollout.   He’ll be showing how their help desk team is even working with Amazon and a 3rd party to create a version of Alexa that will serve as a help desk “concierge,” in far flung and new offices without onsite IT.

Visitors can take away creative branding and marketing tactics to drive usage, the understanding behind designing an ultra-efficient onboarding process, and ideas on perfecting the user experience.
